Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Cvs does NOT care about getting the customers in and out quickly

They never have and never will! They WANT the customers to linger or have YOU delay them at registers, in hopes that they will spend more money. Think about it, why does cvs NEVER respond to customer complaints about long lines at checkout? Because a DL told us, that long lines at registers and lack of available store personnel on the sales floor are NON-issues, and corporate is NOT going to respond to those complaints. We were told to just smile and apologize, and that would make the customer happy.

Exactly what @1035Vtcx-vph said.

Yes, and those same boards of directors only look out for what makes themselves rich, not what customers want or what makes employees happy. Look at Right Aid, and you see what I mean.

But that is the problem with corporate america...not just CVS. The board is elected by stockholders/wall street and not customers. That is the real problem in corporations!

Wall Street isn't paying our bills, the customers are. And if we don't listen to our customers, they might just spend their money elsewhere. If they do that, then it's bye, bye cvs. So I would tell the "board" that our customers matter more than a bunch of stuffy over paid suits!

Think about it...why or how would you respond as a business leader? What are you going to say to a customer that is not a lie? The only thing you could say without lying would be that you will add more people but where are the funds for that going to come from? Wall Street doesnt want the company to do that. So the company asks us to simply use the resources we have available in store at the moment so that we know we are doing everything we can. We are introducing self checkouts to allow customers other options. But if you were in charge and you had to report to Wall Street and a Board of Directors who said you couldnt spend more payroll, how would you respond to those complaints? Also, understand that these complaints are because people are impatient...they have zero patience and expect the world to revolve around them and get p-ss-d when it doesn't. That is not a problem a company needs to solve. Just my opinion.

There are ALOT of companies that tell their customers, "your time is important to us" You'll notice at cvs they don't say that.
