So a manager in my department is hosting a series of workshops on resume writing. Should this be a cause for concern? It has drawn a large interest from my fellow colleagues but I am not sure how many actually attended the first meeting. Could this be being used as a way to make lists for people attending and they may wind up on the list so to speak to be let go? Just seems a bit odd to me for a manager to be doing something like this. I never experienced this in any of my past companies I worked for. I have not signed up for the classes BTW.

I disagree. I think most BNY managers CAN get a job at McDonalds.
Most people managers in BNY would not get a job in McDonalds as they would fail on people skills and common sense. What a horrendously poor organisation. Its no wonder the share price is dropping. Leadership are a poor excuse for ethical human beings.

Remain calm. You've entered the twilight zone or black mirror.
Like previous reply, this is kind of like your spouse helping you set up your match.com profile. A part of me doesn’t believe you, this seems like a April fools prank.
Absolutely no cause for concern at all. It completely normal for a company to do this. Just because your manager is helping you write a resume doesn't mean they want to prepare you for find another job. It's just another way to show your employees how much you care about them. It's similar to if your spouse or significant other was giving you dating advice. Its completely normal.
