Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Were talking about the consequences, not the problem

The HCL situation, layoffs, restructuring, changes that we’re witnessing, they’re all just the consequences of the fact that Xerox is a company that doesn’t have any technology that could be profitable in the future, and the technology that’s profitable now is slowly fading away. Who is to blame? Probably the leadership, but the fact is that this could have happened in any form ad will continue to happen until the end. God help us all.

if you re pulling a 12 hour day working your nuts off then you are the fool! Do as least as possible THEY don't care about you. They will replace you in a heartbeat, HCL were earmarked to take over direct engineers in the UK.If not prob manpower or SCC, we are a burden (a cost) to them, work hard or not ,your future is NOT with xrx.

This is a Harvard Business Review study in the making. Place C level execs who have a history of failure with a single goal- get stock price to $40 so an elderly activist investor can cash in instead of enjoying his twilight years. Lie to investors and SEC about a plan for getting revenue Growth. Make blatant cost cutting decisions on employee backs such as 401k contribution and severance change. Avoid severance by requiring relocation to a nerve center or by forced rebadging. Cozy up with competitors because Carl doesn’t care about anyone with less shares than he has.

Print is declining, but forward thinking managers could have addressed it. ACS was a good gamble, but we spent billions trying to change their culture. Just like we are trying to change GIS after successfully being hands off. It’s freaking nutty. We know that print on packaging, print on object and printed electronics are all gold but cannot monetize. SAD

qvp I’m sorry man. When I was there, you guys were the backbone for our customers. If I was there, I’d honestly volunteer to give your sorry manager a verbal lashing. I’m sorry you are dealing with this. It’s not right. Please get your resume out to a company that will value your dedication and skills. Xerox simply doesn’t value good employees. Worst management on the planet by far. People like me are happy elsewhere. Don’t waste another second with them. It’s not worth it.

I don't really care that print is dieing. I care that xerox is run like sh–. I'm a direct CSE and I really dislike my manager. I've had plently and he is by far the worse.

Doesn't answer emails, doesn't escalate issues. Sits in meetings all day with no communication to his directs.

No "thank you" for pulling a 12h day for a week straight. No thank you for working 7-10 calls per day. Only time he communicates is to say what your doing wrong. 5 CSES have left because of this guy and another 5 have told his direct he's a poor manager. Anything change? No

This has been my experience with a lot of Xerox middle managers.

They will scream at you to return a 0.50 cent part overdue but won't charge a customer for breaking a 400 dollar part through abuse. Then ask the day after why you aren't making parts budget.

Can't wait to leave!
