This is the list of GD Comments on Exxon's Vacation and PTO Policy (Source below, 1 comment per employee, no duplication):
- Based on time of service. 0-4 years is 2 weeks, 5-9 is 3 weeks, 10-19 is 4 weeks, 20-29 is 5 weeks, and 30+ is 6 weeks.
- Only 8 holidays during the year and 2 floating holidays - not very much time off for new hires (10 days total until you hit 5 yrs)
- Decent vacation policy. Most new-hires start with 2 weeks paid vacation. It will increase up to 6 weeks after 30 years of service.
- 3 weeks at 9 years of service.
- Paid Time Off is not included as a contract employee with this role.
- Has pretty long hours with very little work life balance and I do not like the fact that they’ve made it difficult to enjoy paid time off
- Vacation plan is in line with other oil companies
- Very low amount of time off compared to other companies
- Can bank some days before use it or lose it takes effect.
- 2 wks for the first 5 yeras
- Most employees start off with 2-3 weeks vacation depending on their experience level.
- Vacation is pretty bad, start off with only 2 weeks and slow to build more.
- Vacation is a little tight for the first five years, but sick leave is very generous and the vacation benefits improve as they accrue with age.
- Vacation is good, but has not changed in many years, so sounds like less than other companies I have heard about.
- 4 weeks at 10 years. Sigh.
- Excellent vacation and paid time off options
- Starting phd gets 3 weeks. Additional week after 5 years, then another week every 10.
- I wish they gave new hires more PTO. you get 10 days your first year and 2 personal holidays.
- Vacation days are typical, maximum annual carryover.
- Decent amount of vacation for beginning but Doesn't increase until year 5(or end of year 5 not sure). Comp time policy not good at all. Especially with no extended pay on turnarounds.
- Vacation time increase as time at company increases - Early career people get two weeks a year, this gets moved up to 3 weeks a year after 5 years. 4 weeks after ten years, 5 weeks after 20 years, 6 weeks after 30 years.
- Vacation is a bit skimpy, you only have 2 weeks for the first 5 years. In my position I can take vacation whenever, there's not much of an issue with timing. Flex-time is nice, there's never a problem going to the doctor or dentist.
- Managers encourage the use of vacation as long as it is balanced against the needs of the business. This basically means employees and management need to plan and communicate, but I rarely saw or heard of vacation being denied.
- 2 weeks for new hires. 3 weeks after 5 years. 4 weeks after 10 years. 5 weeks after 20 years. 6 weeks after 30 years.
- The more years service you have the more vacation and sick time you earn.
- 10 holidays, 10 vacation days to start until 5 years of employment
- New hires start at 2 weeks, and you get your 3rd week at 5 years in. Vacation tops out at 6 weeks many years in for US employees.
