Thread regarding BB&T Corp. layoffs

The Start of Layoffs

Has anyone been laid off yet due to MOE or know of anyone that's been let go in preparation for the mass layoffs that are bound to happen?
Just curious if they're leaning towards the normal rif process or going a different route. Would love to hear everyone's experience with this process or thoughts around it. TIA

Yes that is the sad truth. I had a coworker experience something quite similar to the pettiness you speak of just within the past few months. The manager was threatened by my colleague because they advocated for change and growth, had a forward thinking mindset and hobestly cared about doing right by the bank (even if it meant saying what needed to be said instead "yes sir" all the time in order to protect our the banks integrity and clients). We are told to have this mindset and be open to change, yet this person was punished and terminated under a make believe story. No severance package and many many years wasted for nothing. And this is not the first time this same manager has pulled a stunt like this. Now, I've been here far too many years to know not all managers are like that. Most are great people who truly care! This bad apple though makes me ashamed to say I work for the same company and unfortunately they've already secured their spot in Truist. I truly hope the truth comes out for people like this, and hoping more don't have to go through the same type of departure. Time will tell...best of luck we all need some!

Oh yes I have seen this already begin as well. Sometimes in the same fashion to what the previous post outlined . I've also seen some who've been let go due to it but because they didn't want to give them a severance package they found the tiniest things to terminate people over. They've been petty things that on a normal day no one would bat an eyelash over and in some cases I've seen them make up bold face lies to terminate people over. It's really sad when you witness people who've worked hard for many years and are always putting in the extra effort be let go. I get those who aren't doing their job or don't want to be here, go ahead fire them but the ones who dedicated many years they've let go that devoted their every waking moment to this companies is completely disgusting to me! I wonder who makes the ultimate decision on who goes / stays

Yes I know several folks that have been laid off due to the MOE. RIF and then paid to stay until LD1 or longer then after last day of pay to stay they get 60 days notice pay and once that is over they get severance. Hope this help as I know everyone is feeling the stress. Good luck!
