Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

FALLOUT

I am sorry when people are laid off. And the fallout keeps getting worse for those that remain.

It’s not just the work load, taking on more work as people are let go. Its the knowledge gaps, messy reorganization, confused management, broken teams, anger, depression, you name it.

Like many, I may not yet have another job, but I continue to look. I cannot imagine how they will ever fix this, I just want OUT.

And those are my thoughts about work, every minute of every hour of every work day.

Sounds real productive, right?

Yeh even managers now not sure in a future. They are waiting to. Doesn't matter how good you are, how hard you work or what experience you have you can face lay off. This is today days in BNY Mellon. But the worst of it is new culture when before to let person go they do everything to evaluate his/her work with BE instead of say 'Thank you for so many years of service'. Even if they have nothing for BE they will just fabricate it. I understand when organization need fresh blood, when it want to restructure their stuff, but I am sure they could find more civilize, respectful way to do it.

Honestly it doesn't really matter. At the end of the day the work gets done and that's all that really matters to management.
