Special Project is what Charlie is doing in BNY. Cut costs, Increase Income....raise share price. At the moment he is failing badly. But guess what....he does not give a flying fcuk. He will get his salary and bonus and be gone within the year....laughing all the way to JPM.

How are special projects any different from all other positions these days? The real difference is that people working on special projects have current skills and are aware of relevant industry trends and strategies. If you're not working on special projects, you most likely have outdated skillsets and are on borrowed time. You'll struggle trying to understand how to implement capabilities and functionalities, as well as, service customers in an agile environment.
Special projects are almost temporary by definition. Of course, we all feel that way these days.
All they post in NY are either project or developer positions so if your part of a recently funded project I would think ok.
Special projects normally have a start date and finish date. Like someone said it’s usually a foot out the door. Sorry and could be ended at any point by the new management coming in.
Yes, witnessed it with numerous people
Special projects = Kiss of death. I know from personal experience at another company prior to BNYM. At BNYM at least, normal projects usually end up as the kiss of death.
that's usually when new people come along and sc-ap projects they don't agree with.
