Heard that Chuckles is looking to eliminate all admins back wide. Didn’t believe it until I heard one region just announced elimination of all admins. Here’s an idea, instead of getting rid of a $35k a year job let’s eliminate one position on the EC.

Executive Assistant jobs in the Boston financial industries pay up to 130k plus bonus, and I know people who make it. BNYM EA’s can make up to 93k. If you think it is a do nothing, unnecessary job, you are a big FOOL.
You are GREATLY MISINFORMED if you think admins make $35k. The down voted post below is spot on, but I guess many of you are in denial. Not uncommon for the admins to be given a basically do nothing job when the exec they worked for gets pushed out the door. Sad but 100% true.
if you mean secretaries by admins, those were usually the first to go in our dept. Now VPs are doing their work too

Actually, people would probably be in favor of eliminating several admins if they knew their salary.
Many are paid higher than management because they used to report to Directors and Executives prior to the reorganization years ago.
Admins used to be a favored position because they would handle security access, new hire orientation, amongst other activities. They used to anticipate needs of the department. That is no longer the situation. Admins mainly answer questions people can locate on the intranet or wait for assignments.
These are great people, but Admins making 70k to 85k a year should be laid off and be eligible for rehire into another position IF they have skills suitable for a job paying that salary.
I know one that is one of the hardest workers and does nearly everything for the floor. Answers stupid questions, coordinates, place supply orders, etc. they are one of the few that actually do their job.
And they got a BE this year.
