Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Labor Day must mean working

As I find myself working every day this Labor Day weekend, I think back to last year when I had 3+ days off working at Vz. But, hey, i get paid more at my current job, right?

More money may not be the answer if it tilts your life to no time off.. Maybe it is just fine where you are. Just a view from the 'grass is greener' group.

I don't know were you worked at Verizon but everyone I know worked every holiday we were on call 24/7 365. So I don't think having holidays off at Verizon is typical even though they pay you for it you usually end up working it and if your salaried it's just expected and you don't get any monetary compensation.

Working outdoors is for the birds. Hot, cold, rain, snow and the worst of all: the sun with its skin cancer. So...hard pass on that craft $hit.

Most Americans live beyond their means to impress strangers with fancy cars and McMansions. As a result, they spend a lifetime as debt slaves always chasing higher pay and sacraficing life to do so.

It's all about priorities. It's up to you to set them for yourself.
