Thread regarding SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. layoffs

id--ts driving the boat.

Not that I want "Ambassadors" to have missed days at work (except for me). When there's a hurricane causing less people on a rollercoaster that it takes operating it.....maybe we should close the park.
I know, we've got to see what Disney and Universals doing. Only they have customers....for good reason.

I'm with you FW. Yes Anonymous, the geniuses (since someone obviously doesn't like the word id–ts), have decided to wait until the mean old hurricane is closer....to open the parks back up. Today would have been a better choice to stay open than tomorrow IMHO (which is often unpopular here). Not only will they elevate risk, but there's no way they're going to break even tomorrow.

So I heard that Seaworld is open tomorrow.

It would be a huge shame if the track suddenly changed (Which is possible) and after setting everything back up the park got wrecked....

Yet still most like the executives that made this choice wont be there.

Im not sure why there are so many downvotes on the original poster.. were they because they feel we shouldnt be closed? Were they from people in that have no real responsibility and think that the park can be open until the last moment and then everything is fine? No there is a lot of work that goes into making the park hurricane ready and those people who need to do that prep give up time dealing with their own personal stuff so it is ALWAYS better to close early than try to be open for a small handful of people. Sure someone might leave a negative review because they took a vacation here and the park was closed due to an act of nature, but better than employees feeling like they are being put in bad positions and leaving for companies that care. Alas maybe i am mistaken....

But yea disney can afford to be open longer.. more stuff inside to attract more people, more staff to actually prep the park faster. Same with universal. And also in both cases if stuff gets destroyed, they can just write a check to replace it with the money they print every day. We have to be conservative because otherwise we are screwed.

Disney's got more to see than a flume ride through a concrete block building.....or spinning around in a penguin car looking at rainbow lights.
The point is that they can be.

SeaWorld's Dorian closures are more conservative than Disney's.
