I know none of the companies in this business are in a good place right now, but none of them sank as low as xerox either. Is it about time to stop blaming the slow market for our lack of ability to innovate and adapt to the trends?

Billing errors have been k–ling this company for years .....
I just found out there is a school in my district w an entire fleet of loaners. 13 months ago their service contract is up and corporate wouldn't lease them new HW because of some billing issue.
So sales puts loaners in there. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost revenue. 13 months of free printing. Millions of color impressions. Tens of thousands of $ in free crus. And free parts and labor.
Meanwhile my budget is determined by impressions and we've not made our parts and cru budget for the year..wonder why? I wonder how many other loaners are out there.
What a joke. I would be fired for selling a feed roll or toner cartridge, but above is allowed to go on
I worked at a core and did sales commissions (left 3 weeks ago to go back to school to finish my masters in teaching) and Xerox is failing because of sales ,the service margins s—ed and the deal goes through because they don't want to lose the hardware $, but we lose a c-apload of $ on the service side and sales still gets their big commision , because God forbid they are held accountable for anything, it's ludicrous, I cannot even begin to tell you the shadiness that goes on at my core with some deals, management is sent weekly the profit margin reports of all the customers we are losing our shirt on and NOTHING happens, I swear if sales was meant to follow the service pricing structure we wouldn't be in this situation, well when HCL starts processing all the deals maybe this shady a– stuff will stop but I doubt it! Management did nothing because they are content with their over inflated salaries, if Xerox did their due diligence at what really happen at the cores they would be amazed at the amount of money that should have been made
I was at GIS for many years and made a great living as a sales rep. Left earlier this year for a competitor selling mostly Net New and I’m k–ling it. Going after Xerox/XBS, Ricoh, CBS, KM Direct and Marco is easy pickings. Businesses are tired of dealing with corporate monsters. They want local billing, service and support. Don’t be afraid to leave. The grass IS greener on the other side!
I have ex - colleagues working for dealerships and they are doing ok, salesmen driving Ferraris and large houses still dining out on photocopiers, its tougher than it was but I agree large corps cannot satisfy the customer or make changes quick enough, xrx is so procedure based and stuck in over bloated red tape, mid managers have no say ,and that is why we are failing.x is OBSESSED with cost cutting, how about doing some marketing for once??
I work for a large, multi national competitor and things aren't great here either. Nothing but cost cutting here for at least ten years. The big players are leaving the service side of the business and the dealers are benefiting. Every time we lose a customer, I ask the same question. Why are the dealers able to run a profitable business? The only answer I can come up with is the extremely bloated structure of the large companies and poor decisions made by upper management.
We don’t know how bad it is internally at the competition - It may have been bad from the start so they are used to it over there. Xerox was actually a good company with a strong culture - this is what has been k–led.
