55-60 years ago at the start of each school year my parents would take me and my brother to the Sears in Buena Park, CA. for new school clothes. Not alot, maybe one new pair of trousers and a shirt along with some new undergarmets. We always had the catalogs delivered to the house. I especially enjoyed the Christmas edtion and fantasized about all the toys I'd never actually see. Kenmore home appliances all came from there and with my mothers help, cleaned and dried my Sears clothes. Sears kept the perishable food cold and the ice frozen. During my first year of high school we bought an electronic organ from that Sears, probably a Lowery since they, like Sears, were based in Chicago, Ill. It had a Leslie speaker that spun inside the cabinet. But the really remarkable thing about it was that that Sears also offered organ lessons in the basement. I learned Colour My World by Chicago from their second album while my brother learned Basin Street Blues from further south. As I grew and earned my own money, automotive Craftsman Tools became a reality until the reality of age made working on cars less fun. As I aged so did my father until he needed a hearing aid from Miracle Ear located in the same basement as the organ lessons. Sears Buena Park was adjacent to Knott's Berry Farm which didn't charge admission 55-60 years ago. They began in the late 1960's and I've never spent a nickel to return–boy that was so long ago. Yet sadly Sears old buddy, even though I've spent my money on you I just didn't have enough for the both of us to keep you alive. Unlike hindsight, 2020 was not an ah-ha moment for you. So Long Sears Buena Park.
I'm going for interview soon. I hope they dont close before that.
The hometown side which already runs stores of that size will become responsible for home & life.
They laid off the team that was working on opening new Home & Life stores. They also have NO ONE left in training and development. No future anymore.
“All the people complaining about closures are ignoring Hometown and Home & Life. Sears is actually GROWING AGGRESSIVELY when you add those in the mix.”
Sorry bud, but unfortunately the people “complaining” about their careers being destroyed and never getting to see people they’ve known for years ever again isn’t gonna be offset by some 10k square foot store on the other side of the country
Any remaining non closing Kmart stores that do not have Halloween 🎃 candy 🍭 yet will be closing early October.
Omg go forward? Sorry but don't believe it. The end is nearer than you think.
"Yes those store's are the future. The remaining Sears and Kmarts are now going to be getting revamped and will go forward. The closings are over and now it's go forward to profitability. "
Oh yeah, never heard that before, right?!

Think 21st century and not 19th.
Mall landlords across the nation are fighting in court to deny Eddie the assumption of leases. They prefer to bring in a company that is financial stable.
RIP: Sears 1893 - 2020 🙏 😥
It wasn't confirmed but there are more to be closed or announced in October. This will be an ongoing saga until the Kmart division is shut down. Sears will fare better. This is sad.
More on the way! Stay tuned.
I heard another batch in October 2019
There are more slated this year yet and the rest gone by the beginning of 2020.
All of them
