I promise this is true. Spoke to an e board member of no local 827. He said it is not the special eisp. It is the eisp. I asked why the union did not negotiate the special eisp and he said it is not negotiable. They can offer whatever once a year. I was praying for the special eiso
can't see how any info given can be right....per contract on 1x allowed a year IF offered its 10 plus 40 and 2200 up to 40..so any posts regarding what is offered and union contacted is false, because union would have to sit and negotiate and changes to a offer IF one was to become available, and you would hear more detailed info if it was actually going on.
What is nettech?
OK at the union meeting this week, the union announced that the company called again and we’re going from plan A to Plan B. The only thing they told them was plans changed and it will be a regular Eisp! The second level said the head the count for SSDAC, (systech )is 26! North jersey! 10 in the south. Total technicians about 150 in the state. No nettech at this time !
It was verbal, the president cannot say anything until it is in writing and official. It will be in writing in October. He will probably also deny about the investigation going on at 827, international, FBI. Pr-scrip-ion fraud. It’s not about him it’s about other union official! Allegedly.
dvhj - 827 president knows nothing of a package.
Sorry before I called it super eisp , my mistake it’s called special.
I'll take my $100K crumb thank you.
Thanks edkr I'm on long island in ny we are hearing mixed information some say regular bau eipp and some are saying EISP I wouldn't be surprised if the e i p p was for field technicians and the eisp was for reps Etc inside people. as much as they think they would like to get rid of us they need us more every year. FiOS has been up and running here for years and they still have plenty of work for us. The e i s p is the one that does away with the age penalty correct?
Yes you can take it over four years, the 50 is upfront. You could option to take half and the other half over four years also.
My question is though... with the 2200 X years of svc payment . plus the 50,000 how is it diispersed is it all one lump sum payment which goes towards your yearly income and will put you in a really high tax bracket, or is there monthly payments for four years like in the past?
ISP=1100,+ 10000, eisp= 2200, + 10,000 + 40,000, there is no such thing as a super eisp!!!! Ok
The union was only notified Verbally, the company will put it in writing in October. The offer will be out the first week in the mail in November. Off payroll the end of December. Local 827 (NJ)
Exactly. It's the eisp. Amazing they had plenty of $$ for the managers. !!
ISP=1100,+ 10000, eisp= 2200, + 10000, super eisp 2200’ up 40 years, +10,000. , + 40,000 !!!! Ok
Which local is giving out info? Or at least what state are you in? Of course the company can make offers to whomever they’d like....but our union is clammed up at the moment...
Don’t understand why members are getting different numbers from the union.
When they offer the 2200 for every year of service, they also do the 50k. The 10k is usually when the do the 1100 per year of service.
Crumbs from the table. Not even worth begging for. But here you all are.
I was just told by our union. $2200 a year max 30 years +10k
That's it
Rumors of EISP and numbers all over the place. So no one knows basically..
I heard everyone gets a pony
If it’s enhanced, I’ll go. If they offer 1500 capped at 25 I’m staying. If they can give a good offer to management, they can give one to the workers.
The eisp is 1100 now....so maybe not a bad thing.....it’s only 2200 if it’s enhanced
I heard about 4000. . I also heard it's going to be the basic eisp. 2200 for 30 year max. I really can not believe that they are not offering the enhanced. But then again it doesn't surprise me. Save all the real $ for the executives
Heard they are looking to get 4,000 off the payroll (about 10% of the workforce) in the entire Verizon footprint...anyone else hear anything about numbers?
There is an ISP, and an EISP (enhanced ISP)....never heard of a super eisp. NEVER! Stop trolling.
Per the union contract the company can offer a super EISP once a year, they only have to notify the union and do not have to negotiate or talk about numbers. This is how we know it will be a super EISP!!
Got the same message from our union about an hour ago. Basically said an eisp was coming out in November. No other details. Didn’t say small and targeted, nothing about titles or locations...and didn’t say “super eisp”.
Hahahahahaha directly from my union stewerd. Some of the most useless f—ing self serving pricks in the company. I believe more the tooth fairy then any union rep
Directly from my union steward
Heard today there will be a limited EISP offer 4th quarter 2019. Numbers will be small and targeted; mainly for clerical. No additional information at this time. I’ll keep you posted.
It’s official the union was notified that there is an EISP coming out the first week of November. No other information was given to the union, that means it will be a super EISP ! It would be offered to limited groups. Ssdac, nettech, !!!! (827) low #’ s
If anything was confirmed by reading all these pro/con arguments, it’s that Aesop’s Fox is alive and well.
Rationalizing our choices is ingrained in our dna.
Here’s a truth: both sides are totally correct in both their pro or con argument.
To present your Side as superior is human nature.
To downplay the negatives of your side is as well.
Unions raise the bar for everyone, but also protect worthless employees. Truth
Management holds the potential for achieving higher goals, but this company has thrown managers of all levels to the street on a moment’s notice, and does treat managers very poorly. Truth.
And the biggest personal truth of all? I will not miss any of it. It isn’t worth missing. It never was.
Looking back through these posts, there seem to be just as many management hating posts as there are union hating posts. Furthermore, most of the "union hating" posts are telling union members that they are better than they give themselves credit for. There is outright encouragement to live up to your potential. The posters obviously believe union members are good, capable people who have tons of potential. Meanwhile, the "management hating" posts offer little that could be considered positive. They don't even offer compelling arguments to join the union. Past successes are paraded out to prove how great unions are. Or... at least, were.
If unions are the key to prosperity, why has there been a 50% decrease in membership since the 1950's? It seems to me that people would be clamoring to unionize if they were so prosperous and beneficial. Why isn't wireless unionized? Why are there right-to-work states with non members working in union jobs? Is it a corporate conspiracy to keep unions down? If that's the force at work, it doesn't say much about the power of the unions.
the problem with this country comes from jealousy and stupidity. instead of the people trying to get to where we are they want to bring you down to there level. its much easier for them so they bash the union than get up off there a$$ and do something about it.
Lots of union hating here, ..biggest arguments is protect the lazy, and no room for growth..well, some managers would get rid of you just for a disagreement, dont like your personality, or just because to show how powerful they think they are, unions protect against biases, HR will take a complaint and look into it, but good luck otherwise..and if you enjoy
40 hour work weeks, paid vacations, personal time off, child labor laws, overtime pay,and sufficient pay scale comparisons and a array of other benifits and structure created that applies in job markets and placed in government law, your welcome.Try going to any country where unions dont exist, and see what your worth is, when no precedents are put in place to establish what you believe you are worth.
In 1950s over 30% of country was union, abke to buy house, 3 kids in college, car and stay at home parent, today less than 15% and see the difference. Blame inflation, cost of living, whatever.. unions dont just protect their own, they set a standard for all.
Yeah... can somebody shut the guy/guys up that talk about leaving the union. I start to think I might be able to do better and I get uncomfortable.
@9aml- @9obv was a little long winded, but i can explain it to you. In a nutshell... The manager doesn't need to know how to do the labor. He needs to know what the plan is and direct the laborers so the plan is acted out. The details of how the labor is done don't matter to the manager.
I hope that helps.
@9obv
If you’re going to open a pastry shop, you don’t need to know how to fix your car. That’s what mechanics are for. What an id–t argument.
Omg... right? It's like this guy owns a dictionary or something.
Previous post too long and not worth reading, makes no sense.
