HR has been having meetings for processing documents. Core HR staff is not allowed to take time off until after the end of September. Our favorite HR leader is getting ready to hand out Starbucks gift cards so everyone can calm down and “have a cup of coffee with a friend.”

It did happen Sept 10th. I am losing my job. I have a family and a personal life. I am not a chess piece to be moved at whim. This company doesn't care. We have no value to them. We are to busy bickering to unify and fight together. GM 50,000 employees are striking. I am non agreement but I would gladly protest and picket with any crew member that works the 5 yards I supervise for 3 to 4 more months.

Beth now thinks she is in succession to replace Lance whenever he moves on. I can’t wait for the Thunderdome between Beth and Vena.
With big capital projects wrapping up, IT will get slashed hard this time. Probably cut IT like Safety dept a few layoffs ago. Wierd...
So nobody in HR can take time off now? That’s bizarre but makes sense for UP. Guess when you cut so deep you can’t have people taking vacation or getting sick.

Yes, the time off freeze is strange to come at this time because normally we freeze in October for open enrollment. I haven’t been at any meetings though for lay-off documentation and process.
