I am in the wrong business. Who knew you could be paid millions to simply say "You're F*cked!" Sh!t, did I just give out million dollars of advise right now?

Why do we need consultants to tell us what everyone else already know.

@10WXJVJR-1ure:

The consultants and lawyers have been billing every month and you can look on the KCC site for their monthly statements.

Under the normal accounting rules, Windstream would book those as expenses (probably in a special line item with some name like "restructuring" or bankruptcy fees") along with an entry that the bill is an account payable (not yet paid). So these would have shown up already as expenses on the monthly profit and loss statement even though the cash hasn't been paid out.

I say "normal accounting rules" – there may be special rules for bankruptcy that I don't know about.

That said, it's all very transparent (if complex) if you go through the public documents.

I don't know how the UCC's fees are accounted for – if they show up on Windstream's P&L or elsewhere.

It was my understanding that all of these attorneys and consultants were getting paid every month out of the DIP, is that not the case? Have then all been just billing every month and not getting paid out. Most of the monthly invoices show this as an expense.
