Thread regarding Advance Auto Parts Inc. layoffs

If you are on the fence

If you are considering leaving AAP - and let's be honest, who isn't - and can't make the final decision, then remove the possibility of layoffs from your consideration.

Now, if you still think you would not be happy here, then you'll have your answer. I decided to stay because I realized that I still enjoy my job, it's the lack of job security that was my biggest issue. So I'll ride this out.

But my point is, that helped me. Try it. You might have your decision after that.

Well, I can’t say the same. I left Advance for AUTOZONE and what a huge difference with management and benefits as well as working for people who care and know how to run a company. Advance is closing stores while AUTOZONE keeps opening more. More store means more opportunities for advancement for me. Plus the pay is better and they have what Advance didn’t to do your job.

At the end of the day one must look out for ones interests, plain and simple. Its seems that is the way at any corporation. CEO comes in making the big bucks, he/she has to shine for a minute to come out with millions.

Well said. Here is another thought.

Remove the fact that we have poor leadership and management. Try to disregard that our leaders are more concerned with stock prices rather than employees and their families. Realize that they consider us as replaceable. Now you have to understand that there really is no future here and you would be better off starting over.
