Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

What happens when they can’t downsize anymore?

Do they plan for the people that stayed at UP to continue working at a piece that’s on the verge of human possibility? Hard to think that anyone can work at this tempo continuously, for a longer amount of time

On the verge of human possibility? Staying busy on a limited shift? Some governed by hours of service? Work in a slaughterhouse 12 hours a day lugging meat the entire time. Better yet, try going to war. NOBODY on the railroad will ever come close to “human possibility”. This is why so many people whine. They never had to really work and they don’t want to.

Since they are under contract with the unions where are the law suits since the unions won’t strike?

OP: My guess is that they'll cut everyone except for upper management and a few field managers/senior craftspeople. Everything else will be contracted out. When that collapses (it will, and they know it), there will be large sales of stock and the awarding of golden parachutes to those who made the mess in the first place.

When it collapses they sell their stock and find another company to ruin
