BBB just had a press release they eliminated 7% of corporate staff in NJ. The president and COO Eugene Castagana was eliminated. An estimated savings of over 18 million this fiscal year.
What a day for corporate staff- this also includes corporate staff that are based in stores.
Why won’t corporate get rid of DP, what s waste of money. He’s broken every rule that can be broken and he gets away with it, there are plenty of employees that can provide information that will shock corporate!! He’s hand appointed yes men and women need to also be out the door!! Wake up corporate, Mary as CEO don’t cover this up, stand up for the good employees and earn their respect.
Layoff on July 23 and the health insurance only covers our family until 7/31. Pretty sh–ty.

The company has fundamentally stayed the same for the 20+ years I have worked here. The stores have never evolved. Now Wall Street gets involved and the company is doomed.
Massive layoffs? 160 people is nothing compared to the 900 they eliminated in Aug 2017. Some of the regional and district positions don’t make sense. An dmm reports to an rmm. My dmm has never walked my store. I get lots of emails from them but they have never physically walked me or my seniors. I hate to see people lose their jobs but this company needs to make big changes to stay in the game. Good luck to everyone and I hope positive results come from now going forward.
Need to get rid of the IT "lifers" middle management that allow under performing consultants to "milk" the company for thousands/hundred of thousands of dollars and protect under performing associates as well associates that have basically have no day to day work - the ole daddy ball syndrome and/or with kickbacks
I don’t think people realize how much bbb needs those concepts for their vendors, and how it helps build their entire brand. So many of these stores are intertwined.
Like they reported. The sharks are circling Bed Bath. We are doomed. Start looking now. I’m giving it a year or two. If we get rid of Cost Plus, Buy Buy Baby, CTS ( over rated dollar store) we maybe ok.
Get rid of Holmstrom and Cairnduff. Schmeer’s numbers are always better anyways if comparing district managers. Can only do so watch work messing around on your phone all day and texting Siwek
Not all “3,000” are physically at corporate. A lot of the district staff are expensed out of Corp.

7%= 160 employees means there are over 2275 employees at the corporate office.
Is there a total number? I read one article that said it was an estimated 160 employees, but I heard it may have been much more. (News outlets have no clue how many “corporate” employees there are!
There are a lot more changes to come! They will do the typical and slowly roll out the info!

If you work at BBBY and are not looking for a job you may want to consider it. You may especially be at risk if you make $$$$.. Nobody is safe!!! While severance may be an option now it may not be soon.. This is just the beginning.. Round 3 of many.
Please eliminate DP’s position as RVP. He has lowered morale and pushed out many talented managers over his time as RVP over multiple territories.

They will “continue to review its cost structure to identify additional cost savings opportunities” AKA- more layoffs to come- it may swing back at the stores.
