Rumors with dates this time are floating around that BP will sell interest in Prudhoe Bay. Any truth this time?

BP will be gone, just replaced by another company, another name.
Let the cancer of BP leave the air of Alaska. Breath deep and let BP profits evaporate fast. No amount of divestment can cure the cancer BP carries.
BP Alaska selling to Hilcorp
T minus 1 hour and 45 minutes
Interesting that the rumor seems to have the date Aug 27th attached to it and Oil Search (who reside in the same building) just scheduled a town hall for August 27th. Maybe this rumor has nothing to do with BP Alaska and instead has something to do with Oil Search. I hear they are looking for capital to develop of their assets so selling or collaborating with someone else (like Hillcorp) would seem to make sense.
bP selling Alaska is like making America great. bP should be out of the oil & gas business. Its history sticks all its efforts to the ground and there is no phoenix in the P of bP.
Hilcorp employees say its a done deal for 7-8 billion. And Carlisle investment group is supplying the funding for Hilcorp. BP executives won’t answer if true and at same time will not deny it. Have to wonder if negotiations are stymied and that is way the announcement hasn’t come out. Also think BP desperately wants to get out of Alaska as it is not a strategic asset. Think that is why this time unlike Apache I believe it will happen. Who really believed that BP would stay 40 more years!
And at 10:14 am the powers that be let the Anchorage office go for the day to “enjoy the sunshine.”
Read into that as you choose.
I’m a BP employee in Alaska as well, from what I’ve been told BP is not selling anytime soon.
I am a BP employee in Alaska. The rumors have reached us in the Anchorage office but are primarily circulating around the offices of other operators and at the Prudhoe Bay facilities. These are typical, we always seem to have rumors going round. However, last year when the rumors occurred, BP actually sold its interest in the Kuparuk field. I will say that how far this current rumor has spread is more than usual.
