Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

STRATEGY

Their strategy is to get as many to leave as possible without having to pay redundancy. Keep turning up at your desk and take it handy....do not let them stress you out so you are forced to leave. Why do you think the people at top are being forced out? They all disagreed with Scharfs philosophy of treating employees like dirt whislt he takes his 9 million salary.

This is the worst place I’ve ever worked for but luckily I have a new job lined up in September. People would tell me I should leave asap but I’m going to continue staying at the bank and milk every single cent I can out of them until they lay me off. I don’t care what people think anymore because the people whose opinions I would have cared about were all laid off or they left. I’m just staying for the money while I do nothing productive for them; I actually don’t have anything to do so I just read the news or go for long walks outside during lunch. I can anticipate that I’ll be in the next round of layoffs come August 19 but I’ll certainly be welcoming of it because they think I’m leaving on their terms when in reality, I’m leaving on my own terms. If they don’t lay me off or if they “fire me” without pay due to a “forced BE” rating then I’ll quit right then and there and I won’t give them any courtesy of “two weeks”...why should we show courtesy to people who will show us none at all? Good riddance...and good luck to you all.

Several are on the way out just this week. No one says why, and sometimes they are even complimented on the way out, but we all wonder if they are just tired of being a part of this hurtful BNY environment.

We all remember times when we were competing and succeeding, working so hard and all part of a great team. THAT was productivity.

So to endure the current bad company policies must wear out even dedicated senior executives, especially those that know how true success really happens.

True success comes from within the employees all working toward a common goal, not imposed by fear of BE ratings and layoffs. It is teamwork, inspirational management, the joy of accomplishment.

All from within, and never by command or fear.

This is something the BNY of today just does not seem to understand.
