Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Layoffs—something to be proud of?

I’d love to know the total number of people who have been laid off since the appropriately named Chuckey took over in 2015 ... I am heartbroken for my friends who call me on the regular with their stomach in knots wondering if they will be swept up in the latest blood bath. Are you proud of your legacy Chuck and hatchet Fran? Enjoy your stock options and bonuses—how much money does one person need?

I lost track at 30,000 from 2007 through (I think it was) 2016. Has to be another 12,000 at least since then.

Welcome to predatory capitalism. Nobody should be in knots about being laid-off if only because it gives you a chance to work for a better company.

How many employees were abused to the point of leaving? Clever method to avoid paying severance packages.

Frankly - I am (now) relieved.

Hybrid cloud delivery models will rule the day in the end ... with people's/customers's cares
ONLY focused on the user experience of the APPLICATION. Period.

AWS gets it. GCP gets it. IBM also now gets it (KUDOS to IBM for the ballsy purchase of
both SoftLayer and RedHat to drive to that future model !)

Whither InterCloud ?
