Most of the head cashiers come in late, spread gossip, and hang out at the returns desk talking. They call management when they can't figure something out (which is most of the time). There are few and far between that actually work hard and try to do the right thing.
How true is this for the Head Cashiers positions? Anybody know?
Lowe’s also screwing their suppliers by charging for MST teams salaries. The team then gives 10 minutes per bay of “work” consisted of dusting and new price labels. Never do they stock any product or make sure the correct product is in place. This work only takes place for the supplier every 1-2 months. Marvin is not much of a business partner
I just became a head cashier, too. I hope that isn't real.
It seems as though the people that have been let go were never important to begin with. Soo sad the many families that will suffer but not the big dogs they are probably laughing or not losing sleep over what they have done. One other thing bothers me, they seem to not understand that the workers also shop in the stores. Can't wait to see how the stock goes. Love where you live and other bs quotes they use.
I was told directly by a manager that 3 more big cuts are coming this month.

May happen down the road, but I don’t see any more happening this week. I know this—if I was a specialist, RTM, receiving clerk, head cashier or full-time cashier(pro sales cashiers included), I’d be working on an exit strategy. What we are seeing in slow motion is Lowe’s transforming into a majority part-time work force in the stores. Eventually, you will have to be a part of management to be full-time.
But do you REALLY need cashiers though? My local HD has 8 self checkouts with those new 27" touch screen monitors, and they're ripping out all but one of the cashier lanes to put more self checkouts. Cashiers are the easiest to replace with technology. Specialists can be replaced with a kiosk running Google.
No cashiers to speak of so head cashiers are being cashiers. Now you cut the head cashiers. WOW! In the store customers are waiting for assistance already and you cut staffing in major departments. Just close the stores now! Seems to be where all of these cuts are leading. Home Depot seems to have finally gotten their act together. Lowe's needs to take lessons!
I thought we were through the woods on this round of cuts.
I’m one of the assembler who got cut, been with Lowe’s for 5 years and did a lot.. But to cut all head cashiers? Sounds a bit much unless they downsize them..
