Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Classy company

Wow! My support to all of you let go! U will b better off....in the end.
But how about how this was handled?
Respectful? Professional? Family oriented?
Classy?? I'd say...none of the above! Sad.
Does it make others want towork there?
Chime in with your thoughts...on such a class less move ..by a sinking company.

ACTUALLY..... Get your facts straight About Ackman and Ellison and JCPenney. ACKMAN brought in Ron Johnson which decimated JCPenney finances. Ellison was hired by JCPenney as interim CEO until the acting CEO Mike Ullman felt confident in Ellison. Ackman was ousted from the board BEFORE Ellison’s hire at JCPenney. Ellison, while flawed at JCPenney, was not the cause of JCPenney’s woes he didn’t help it much in the end. Ackman is the one you should be concerned about. He was the real threat behind the scenes causing much of the financial woes due to his lack of understanding of JCPenney. It’s all dollars to him and if he can save one for his own pocket he well.

Marvin previously worked for Home Depot. He was hired by JCPENNEY to turn them around and during his tenure the stock price dropped 80%. He jumped ship there because he finally came to grips with the fact that he is not smart enough for the task at hand. He managed to catch on with Lowes thinking it was a safe bet. Bill Ackman from perishing square hedge fund invested a huge amount of money in Lowes and is probably telling Marvin what to do. Ackman did the same with Jcpenney,
so look out investors. Marvin also screwed with JCP management and had 40 plus year managers quit!

Terminations have always been done at the end of a shift. That’s standard protocol everywhere I’ve ever been. If you did it at the beginning do you really think the employee would be in the right mindset to work?

FSA here, laid-off yesterday after 11+ years of dedicated service with zero notice and two weeks pay. Had to go to the local Unemployment Office today and a case-worker helped me with the paperwork and computer. I tried to explain to him that I was hesitant to go through with the process because my manager really wants me to reapply for another position. The case-worker gave me a priceless look and said: "If Lowe's wanted to keep you they would've." Better work is available and the case-worker made damn sure that I realized that and took the time to explain to me what benefits I should apply for.

I think it was disgusting. Some employees worked their full shift, before being terminated. That’s not right to anyone.
