Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

40,000 - 50,000 Jobs Gone

A sample of our store cuts.
Assemblers - 3
Pickup - 4
FSA - 1
Unloaders - 8
Night Stockers - 8
TOTAL = 24

Lowe's Stores - 2,002

2002 × 24 = 48,000 People
Some of these jobs are full time, some are part time, some are seasonal. Our store is above average volume and we have expected earnings of a million a week.

Unload starts with the one task team at 7. They start to split off to pull out pallets while the rest finish unloading

So if the unloaders go to over nights and the "one task team" how the heck does the truck get off loaded?

Only 3 people lost their jobs at my store. Our unload/stockers are still on day shift f for now.

Only 5 people were affected at my store, all but one transferred to a new position within the store. Your numbers are way too high.

If your pickup desk folks don’t have jobs anymore that is because they chose not to stay. Those folks were directly transitioned into cashiers. If your store does that kind of volume then your overnight team doesn’t go anywhere and the unloaders are given the option to transition to overnights.

I agree the way the cuts were handled wasn’t right and I hate to see anyone that doesn’t deserve to lose their job lose theirs, but let’s not over exaggerate the number by 15-20k
