Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Remember when...

Back in May and again in June I posted several things that many respondents refused to believe:

1) SEs would see a pay cut
2) Major lay-off where Services and sales (specifically sp sales) would take and extra hard beating
3) the SE titles would go away

How’s everybody doing out there?

How many VPs were let go, if at all?

SVP of WW Systems Engineering was let go. Well, he’s decided to “spend more time with his family”.

I suppose this was only a matter of time, since he was literally the last of the old guard left under GE.

No real loss with this move, as there was no thought leadership coming from him.

Any other senior leaders out there?

That something big would be an LR of course. I make $117k base so I would rather get a 5% cut than an LR. I like my job, it's so easy I can do it with my eyes closed. Just wanna stay on this gray train for as long as it takes.

My SP SE manager said if not accepted the compensation change could be delayed a year, but something big would happen next year (2020) and during that time it would be mandatory. Anyone knows what is expected to happen next year?

I was one of the id–ts that didn’t believe and I responded it would never happen. I now humbly fall on my sword sir.

1000 pardons.
