Yes those jobs are going away, no severance. They are expected to take another job in the store. If they decline, they terminate. Only some of the bigger stores and some of the Growth 50 are retaining this staff, but some stores that keep it are cutting the number they will have.
being absorbed into the my stylist function in stores with a stylist...everywhere else, it's being done away with or absorbed into self serve kiosks in the home store
It is probably past it's prime. The one in my store just sits at her counter even when the home store is busy.
Marshall Fields started registry business in 1928(?).
