Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

There is life after Lowes.

I sold about $2 million dollars of appliances the last year I was at Lowes. My reward was to be called a "Jackass" by an ASM for leaving, even though I gave them ample notice, which is more than they give their "team members" before they "can" them. I will never walk into a Lowes store again, not even to have a key made. Screw 'em. Life's too short, and it takes too long to get over the smell of rotting souls when you leave the place. Hopefully Eddie Lampert can buy out the place and give it the slow, agonizing death it so richly deserves.

It’s amazing how some managers love to trash talk employees behind their backs when they are there, and after they quit. They have this sense of entitlement that makes them believe they are better than you. Then when you step out, succeed and earn much, much more than they do, they give you dirty looks when you walk in the store.

Lowe’s has shown they owe us nothing, all we owe them is our time on the clock. As an hourly employee, I blocked Lowe’s phone number, when I wasn’t working. I kept a copy of my schedule and made darn sure I knew my state employment laws on scheduling. I kept an employment attorneys number on my phone. They do everything to protect their business, I did everything to protect myself.

Walking in when they are pushing to get the store clean is priceless, when you have a new car, money in your wallet. A great new employer, and no thoughts of ever working there again. Best wishes my former Lowe’s co-workers and those I haven’t met. Keep your chins up, start looking for places that respect and appreciate you. I would never, let my child or a family member work for Lowe’s.

Eddie's brother from another mother is doing that right now. Death by a thousand paper cuts.
