Sounding like layoffs are coming and they are going to be deep. Looks like not enough people taking the VSP.

What is the opposite of opposite?
This is oil and gas so put up and or get out. Everyone knows that layoffs is going to happen regardless of what management on both sides have said. AW and other executives are walking a way with a ton of $, laughing all the way to the bank. APC had roughly 40b in debt so reality is LAYOFFS are coming.
I heard exxon is already in talks with oxy
APC here. I’d love to take the CoC but most likely they’ll keep us in The Woodlands for 12 months until our moving protection runs out.
If they are up front with us it would work out well for everyone but I don’t expect that to happen based off of pure speculation.
Ha... everyone hears 'something'... well I heard 'something' too... which is that not enough people are taking the VSP. Oxy was planning for at least 1K people to accept. That is a high number, but this what I heard, and since Oxy will not meet the target, another offer will come around, not as good as the first, and if needed, involuntary layoffs. The latter is usually when a company will use the opportunity to rid themselves of people with bad attitudes, hard to work with, under-performers, and dead weight. We shall see.
They haven't offered the VSP to Anadarko employees yet. And they haven't told Anadarko employees if their job is moving to Greenway. Most people I've talked to will take the CoC if they have to work in the Greenway office. So it's too early to say there will be deep layoffs.
I heard that more people are taking the VSP than they expected. This from a manager.
I heard the same, which is the opposite of what 2 heard oppositely
Just to be clear, are you saying you heard the exact opposite about layoffs?
I've heard the exact opposite also.
1/3 of the combined workforce through combination of layoffs and the more cost effective transfer with asset sales.
Funny, I’ve heard the exact opposite.
What is this being based off of? Ironically, a lot of APC want to be laid off.
It’s impressive how this deal is able to screw both sides simultaneously.
All the OXY people I’ve met have been great. They haven’t had an “invader” mentality during meetings. It’s a shame their throwing us all into the thunder dome.
