What about plants. Will Lowes Garden Center be 3rd party for plants? Will they have a LNS? They are going to a pay by scan no markdown system .

i worked for a major flower vendor years ago that serviced a major regional retailer. the vendors company hired the trucks to deliver the plants to each store.....we then unloaded the racks on our contracted tables, we took care of the plants – pruned and watered – and we marked down the plants when they were no longer fit for full price. goal was to keep fresh product on the shelf and get rid of any plants that were spent. mark down a few of each type and sadly throw away the rest. i dont see lowes having an LNS if they went to this sort of scenario.
As pay per scan for the plants becomes more widespread, the outside vendor reps will have more and more responsibility for the plants, and there will be less and less desire on Lowe's part to have a LNS.
I thought they already ditched LNS
