Thread regarding BB&T Corp. layoffs

Powers that be appear to be favoring Suntrust in this merger

Unfortunately experience isn't a factor most of the time. Longer service typically are the highest earners, low hanging fruit in the whack-a-person game. For whatever reason the powers that be appear to be favoring Suntrust in this merger. Strange being BB&T is actually the acquiring bank in this case. The 1500$ bonus to the lower level employees is a tactic to keep them from jumping ship, I hope they see thru this and stay because they want too not because of this small bonus. Suntrust wealth people on the other hand were given huge free loans that will be forgiven in 8 years if they stay that long. Majority excepted and sign on for this bribe. Anyone know if BB&T folks got the same offer?

As this process as unfolded it is more obvious that Suntrust leadership has not been concerned about the roles they would play. It is more apparent now than ever before that they are being positioned based on the fact that Rogers will be leading the company in the near future and the BB&T good old boy network is being torn down block by block. The future is here get ready for the change or be run over by it! Culture war isn't beginning, it is over before it starts.

Seems like a recipe for disastrous turf wars when you have the majority of surviving systems being from BB&T, while the majority of management levels being fulfilled by Suntrust peeps.

A huge loan forgiven after 8 years sure would nice! But honestly that's disgusting. Total disregard to everyone who supports those wealth people so they can do their job.

Same deal for lower level employees at BB&T. Funny how the mid range (which are still under paid) are the ones doing the work to get things ready LD1, are offered nothing. Yes we (grade 16 and up) are bonus eligible every year, but those bonuses aren't anything to write home about and they are based off performance. So no true monetary incentive is being offered to the worker bees
