Did anyone else get money from Lowes today? My the SM at my old store wasn't very in touch with what was going on. He just read the company issued letter to me. Are we still getting one last check in 2 weeks? When do my benefits end? Am I getting all my accrued vacation time? I'd call him but really don't think he will know any more today than earlier.

All employees whos positions were eliminated (out-sourced) will be eligible to file for, and most likely collect, unemployment compensation. We (I was an FSA of 12 years) were laidoff and the answer Lowe's will be giving all State Agencies as to why we were laidoff will be "lack of work." All the State Agencies and the Feds all know it is pure corporate greed was why we were dismissed but they all will accept the path-of-least-resistance and wink-wink the "lack of work."
my concern is are the employees that were let go able to collect unemployment/ any clue any one?
We all received what Lowe's thought they owed us yesterday. My health insurance ended immediately the day of my dismissal. My 401(k) will be paid-out with 20% Fed tax withhold and whatever State withhold by August 29 with the option to roll into a qualifying IRA without taxes withheld before 30 days. Not if Lowe's is handling 401(k) distributions or not, or if the 401(k) financial institution is.
Lowe's has no further ties to us beyond COBRA which is basically useless.
My managers all made such a big fuss about me reapplying for open positions today that I'll stop into the store and see what they have to say a week after the purge, chat with friends. Seriously doubt I'll work for Marvin Ellison though.
