Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Carman are the backbone of the railroad. Unions are the backbone of the railroad. Conductors, Engineers, Brakemen,Machinists etc

My brothers and sisters. I want to give all you a great big hug and salute. From Colton to North Platte to Proviso. Keep fighting and keep hope for our unions. All we need is a little bit of balls and they’re going to wake a sleeping giant. Let them keep on with what they are doing...if you read your history on the railroad, look back at what our fellow past railroaders dealt with to get us where we are at now. Let us not forget the great Pennsylvania strike of 1877. We have power. They will always need us, it’s up to us to start acting as a brotherhood...to start acting as true patriots..regardless of race, color, etc. The only color they believe in is GREEN. Start speaking brothers and sisters...for our children!!

Not a peep from my union since shop closure. I don’t think the IBEW even noticed us missing!

Sure. It always comes from a frontline employee. Kudos. Like the lone voice from the darkness. I haven't seen any action or representation from my union except " I don't know." Maybe when they (unions) see their revenue dry up then maybe something will happen. Too late to the party by then.
Article 6 time is coming. Keep your fingers crossed Brothers and Sisters.

Our unions are a joke. We pay insanely high dues so we can have our contracts collectively bargained every 5 years and even that drags on. I have not had one time claim paid in 17 years even though I was told they were legitimate claims. Discipline investigations are a kangaroo court where local chairmen try to lie and twist facts to get guilty members out of a trouble. They defend members who won’t show up to work or can’t follow basic safety rules .

I'll speak! After 27 years of service, yeah, 27! I was cut off last week. What now, i have a terminally ill wife and no income, I hope they choke on their 1.6 billion.

I see lance quitting when they see running off all your customers ain’t the answer. New ceo will start a project so “we” can rebuild the railroad.
