If you saw marvin’s Pod cast it is clear he is a one trick pony who will continue to look for ways to take money from workers and transfer it to his bottom line. Rather it is taking away the allowance that was promised to employees or out sourcing jobs, this guy will not stop if there is a dime me can find a way to take from workers. Since we do not have a union and cannot speak with one voice he will continue to divide and conquer us. So here is my suggestion tell everyone you know what he is doing tell your doctor, members of your church your friends and neighbors go on social media spread the word if you know looking reporters tell them maybe they’ll do a story about it. Anyone who is good at social media please spread this word it is our only chance of stopping this man he is not what is wrong with Lowe’s he is what is wrong with America, the view that says workers have to much and investors have to look.

The OP refers to Marv as a "one-trick pony".
I prefer to think of him as a "one-trick" horse's a–.
His short-sighted blundering, trying to curry favor with investors stands in deliberate neglect of the company's social and corporate responsibility to its many communities.
Management loves to toss around terms like "Omni-channel". The responsibility of large Fortune 500 companies like Lowe's should also be "Omni-channel". There's more to tend to than just the shareholders.
got to thinking about his podcast some more. all the lecturing about being publicly traded...answering to shareholders.....shareholders demand a return on investment......and i cant remember him at all mentioning CUSTOMERS! cut cut cut so that we save more money to give to investors.....but its the customer who is the one that is investing in the BUSINESS of lowes. if there was ever a need for oversight into how chief execs run these corporations and the behind the scenes dealings they have with activist investors its now! the stock market was never meant to run the way its ran now. and marvin perfectly illustrated how a publicly traded company tries to run itself as both a business and a place where the rich get richer via the market.
hes so fricken short sided in his thinking. you cant have long term success as a business when all your focus is is returning money to an investor. you can raise that stock price through artificial means all you want but if you completely abandon the associates and customers then the entire company – stock included – WILL collapse. conversely you can somewhat ignore the stock market....grow a great business and the market will eventually want to flood to you and buy your stock because your business is SOUND!
I'd love to ask CEO's like marvin in corporate retail — so once you have made all your cuts to reduce cost and raise profitability , such that no one is left with a job because you automated, cut jobs, forced customers to self serve, and used robotics, and tens of millions are out of a job and the overall economy suffers because no one has money in their pockets to buy at your stores, will you then admit it was all a giant mistake. that YOU were one of the ones that destroyed the country because greed wouldnt let you see it any other way?! that YOUR desire to accumulate just one more dollar ultimately sank the ship for everyone?!
their money wont protect them forever. forecast this out long term, the history of other countries as an example, once the masses lose everything, they lose it. theres nothing left to live for or lose and the country descends into civil war and the currency loses all value. history has long taught that once the masses spend the majority of their money on just existing – foods, clothes, housing etc. the country will always end up in civil war/rebellion. i think america crossed that threshold in the last 10 years, and the evidence of large cracks in the stability of this nation have become more and more evident.
why is it that everyday people can see it and they cant?! literally the best way to get rich for them would be to invest in their employees and demand other companies do the same. the employee IS the customer! a healthy paycheck and investing in jobs is literally whats needed to grow the bottom line. without disposable income for US these companies will fail. one day they will create a documentary series called "men who destroyed america" and i darn well hope marvins face makes one episode
Notice how the stock price still won’t go up no matter how many employees the marvstar cuts.
We still will have that orgy known as the Las Vegas managers meeting.
When he closed down orchard supply didn’t he say he was going to be transparent?
Marvin is just a greedy man that hides behind his supposed religion!
The media & reporters simply don't care. If you look at the so-called articles about the layoff announcement, they just reprinted the press release from corporate. they didn't print anything else. Also, did anyone notice they never printed anything when 10s of thousands Department Managers were forced to step down to the Temp CSA5 position and find other positions within Lowe's or be let go. Seriously, the media and reporters don't care and won't print or report the real information.
listened to it. expressed zero sadness that good people got laid off. its one thing to lay people off because the business needs dictates.....its another to seemingly not even care that these are people that have their lives altered by it. very cold hearted podcast. i expect more from someone who claims to be a christian first, family man second, and businessman third!
Really the problem is that our customers will sell us out to save 50 cents on a bag of charcoal.
We can service them, entertain and train them; in the end 50 cents will steal them away.
Has anyone talked to a lawyer? Wondering if this would be a class action suit.
