Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Is there a store that functions properly?

Since we keep losing customers on a daily bases because there is nobody to answer their questions or help them out in any way - as all of us are busy doing other things we are forced to do due to job and hour cuts - is there one store that is actually making it work?

And if there is, how? Could we please get some pointers on how to navigate this ****storm without driving our profits so low we are guaranteed to close before the end of the year?

The way Marvin is destroying Lowe's is similar to how Trump is destroying our economy through trade wars and manipulation .
Not a political statement at all , just economic truth as I see it .

It’s horrific! We had one person staffed in lumber (as usual). As I was spotting him, we had to give customers their number in line and expected wait time until we could help them. About half of them left after waiting 15-20 mins. The others were just angry.

Thanks Marvin. Doing a stellar job of destroying the company.

My store is losing people so fast that some departments only have one or two people in them and sometimes that’s the department supervisor. They can’t hire people fast enough because of this botched up new hiring system and many times we can’t even find enough people to even apply. Many places are hiring at much higher wages which makes it next to impossible to recruit.

Things are getting ugly in the stores and the customers are getting p-ss-d off. They can’t find help which is making them go to other places which is driving down Marvin’s precious LTR (Likely To Recommend) scores. When are the mor ons at the top of this company going to learn? Everything they do is disrupting and destabilizing the stores and the stores ARE Lowe’s, not corporate headquarters. It’s becoming very obvious why Home Depot passed on Ellison as their CEO and why he failed at JC Penney. He’s creating chaos and distrust among the associates. He may not be a Home Depot plant as the conspiracy theories on this site suggest but what difference does it make? His performance as CEO is having the same effect, regardless. This company is slowly coming apart and everyone is just watching it happen like a slow motion train wreck.

Not my store.

Yesterday was Sunday, nearly all the associates go home at 5, we have one cashier on at each area until the store closes, every Sunday at about 6:30 we get a mad rush of customers, yesterday was no different.

We had customers calling the store from the aisles, others yelling “can I get some help here!” We had a family wanting blinds cut, the only associate that can cut blinds is on the register helping the new (2 weeks) cashier with a code 3 because she needed an override and we only had one manager on duty.

I’ve been with Lowe’s since 2007 and have never seen it this bad. We simply don’t have the staffing to handle the customers. The store manager thinks he is doing a great job.
