Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Macy's stock tanks in pre-market trading on 2Q sales that miss the mark

Bottom line: If a company does not keep great people and encourage them to do their best work in a positive environment it will fail.

I left at the beginning of the year, so glad I did. Store manager never even said a word to me about my leaving, thought I was a valued employee, guess not. I will not spend one penny at Macy’s. So sad what that company has become.

Not surprising at all. Thank god I got out 2.5 years ago with their “voluntary severance” deal that those who elected not to “volunteer” got laid off anyway. I was with the company over 20 years and it has always been a penny wise pound foolish operation that has never been forward looking although they claim to be. These overpaid garmento cronies have been groomed over the years by this tired company always blaming external problems while never looking inward for solutions even though they think that last act and backstage will carry them through. Getting rid of many people who knew what was going on didn’t help matters. If they offer you the slightest bit of money to leave, TAKE IT AND RUN! I was given a lifetime employee discount and have still not darkened its doors since leaving. Get out while you can. You’ll be much happier. It’s in its last act.

Is it wrong to experience a bit of schadenfreude at Macy's misfortune? Yes, I was laid off.
