Over the past 10 years, the following has been taken away…….

  • Pension – Frozen (no pension for new employees)
  • Vacation – “unlimited vacation” (yea, right!)
  • 401k match temporary reductions due to economy – never reinstated
  • 401k match now in December rather than bi-monthly in paycheck
  • 10% Salary Reductions across the board
  • Mandatory 115% EEI goal (yep, it exists, even though HR will say it doesn’t, you’ll be let go if you don’t ‘charge’ a minimum of 10% overtime- average.) It will never show up on any paperwork, or goals, but rest assured that this exists.
  • Multiple furloughs (3) in one year
  • Lower-elbow ratings for all
  • Unwarranted PIP plans for 10% of workforce, particularly Band 4’s to make MIP budget spread further.
  • Original MIP program was funded by taking 10% of employee’s salary and putting it ‘at risk’ with a 5% upside for meeting goals. So by taking MIP away, you are basically stealing from the employee.
  • MIP reductions from 10% to 5% to 0% (recently).
  • Multiple years of 0% merit
  • Elimination of employee stock purchase plan/employee vacation buy program/work from Home/Telecommute
  • Elimination of 9/80 work week
  • Elimination of approved telecommute agreements
  • Cut backs on business travel
  • Elimination of paying for personal certifications
  • Insurance costs up 1000x, and co-pays about 10x
  • Mandatory biometric screenings with $1,500 penalty for weight & smoking
  • Participative pay program during Allied merger to accumulate funds for merit increases, but never given after merger complete. (asked employees to ‘invest’ in the new relationship)

Don’t forget Anniversary gifts changed to every 10 years instead of 5. Never communicated, unless you had a 5, 15, 25, 35 Anniversary and asked about it.

I was basically forced into quitting and retirement after 30 years of service, excellent reviews all the way except for the very last. I stopped working the OT after one office mate UNEXPECTEDLY DIED AND WASN'T REPLACED IN OUR UNDERSTAFFED GROUP and another one died a few years later due to health issues!! Both were close friends!!! I only hope that Karma acts on the management cronies that followed the company’s policies for their perverted loyalties!!! What goes around comes around!!! Honeywell used to be a good place to work....30 years ago!!!

Gee, guess that's why people don't even make it through orientation before they already resign, for others there is a limit before it just isn't worth it, it is just a job, and there are other companies out there

1vgf,

I think this is a great section to repost on a regular basis. It motivates the longer serving employees to leave and shows the new employees how much they’re not getting. If this place keeps losing people they’ll eventually get the picture.

This should be posted monthly.

Thank you for such a great summary of lost benefits and compensation.

My favorite is employees are usually told about benefit cuts 1 - 2 days before they are implemented so if you wanted to quit due to lower pay/benefits you are given no time to find other employment.

Add the following:
1) Penalty charge of $100 for not signing-up for tele-health.
2) For those that are under the pension plan they froze-out pay raises in the pension accruals after 2015.
3) In 2009/2010 company no longer sponsor their portion of health insurance for retirees.
4) In 2009/2010 departments can no longer order bereavement gifts. When my dad past away in 2009 we got a potted plant . When mom past way in 2011 all we got was a email message.
