Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

BYOD question

What will the company do when they let so many associates go that they no longer have enough free cell phones at their disposal to run all their apps efficiently. Will they then require displaced workers to forfeit their cell phone before they receive their severance check? What about associates who leave the company voluntarily? Will they be allowed by Sam's Club to keep their personal cell phones when they leave?

As a prior salaried manager, I never did BYOD. I was targeted by market manager and regional manager. Thankfully we had a CM that supported us. I just did my job, and very well, with the members and my team. Then last year, after 22 years, was "laid off". They wouldn't have a leg to stand on if they actually tried to get rid of me any other way. It was definitely not performance based. Best year financial bonus for our the club. Club doing great, just terrible market manager. As a matter of fact, i heard the CM bonus alone was over 150k. But they deserved it and was actually one that cared about us and made a difference. Made sure we, leaders, all had our own tools to do our job and didn't force us to do BYOD. Seemed like they had a target on their back as well by the way we saw them being treated by the new market manager. Then the company, really the regional managers, stopped approving the clubs ordering mc's for their team. Yeah, it was tough being targeted and laid off but best thing that could have happened. So much better off with them in my rearview mirror. If they want you gone, they will use any measure, truthful or not, to get you gone. No employer is worth giving up anyone's integrity, character, morals & principles. Something the "new" Sam's Club knows nothing about, and, all the cms, regionals and market managers who have sold their souls to the devil.

They do not make us download all these apps . But if you want to be able to do your job efficiently than you need these apps . Especially if you are a lead — you have no choice but to download all the apps . Now that they are taking all the computers out of all the offices we are really in trouble .

Yes they need to pay for some of our phone bills

The people on this site do not use BYOD and the ones that do still think they matter to this company.

I was a salaried manager and I told them to place byod up their arse. If I took company owned equipment home and used it for personal reasons they would rightfully accuse me of theft, but I'm supposed to let them have access not only my personal device but also to my emails, texts, photos, and files? Ef that!

Theft is theft.

Blows my mind that anyone but a salaried manager would have anything to do with BYOD.

Why would anyone have to give up there personal phone. This is a dumb post/question. The apps will be functionless without a active sign in.
