BYOD: The truth they don't want you to know!

BYOD is a perfect example of why we need to unionize. The company essentially forces us to use devices for which we paid hundreds of dollars of our own hard-earned funds in order to perform the basic functions of our jobs. Are you afraid of union dues? YOU'RE ALREADY PAYING YOUR FREAKING DUES EVERY TIME YOU PAY YOUR PHONE BILL!!! If you "borrowed" company equipment and took it home to use for your own personal business then you would rightfully be fired for stealing company property, even if you promised to bring it back when you were finished with it for the day. However, when the company coerces you to use your personal property for their business needs it's just called "teamwork" and it's all suddenly considered to be OK.

But it is still nothing more than theft.

THIS IS JUST WRONG! When the company reserves the right to monitor your phone calls, texts, emails, and browsing history, you are being subjected to unreasonable search and surveillance never before seen outside of the confines of a totalitarian state. Bentonville actually reserves the right to monitor your phone and internet activities in order for you to earn the privilege to work ridiculous hours for a wage that won't even come close to supporting your family. We need a watchdog to prevent this kind of abuse! That watchdog is a labor union.

This is reason #349 we desperately need to unionize!

Ok 6 months later and you’re complaining about it??? You didn’t know that BYOD was a bold-faced violation? We were pressured to get it but I sure as heck ain’t going to pay for the company’s tools out of my own pocket. Get outta here.

100% right, associates in fort Myers got no raise, not even produce time to look at a union and get what we deserve, not what the club managers want to give you. They decided who to give raises to and who not! Shamefull😡

Dont need a union or anyone else to tell the company I paid for the phone and the monthly bill . I'm not loading your sh–ty apps on my phone . Grow some balls people. They can't make you load their apps on your phone. You want me to do my job give me the tools to do it end of story. They have too many snowflakes working for them now. Hell why do you think their getting rid of the old timers. Cause we wouldn't take their sh–.

Just get your local state reps to pass laws requiring companies to provide all tools of the trade. No union required. Why pay dues to someone sitting on their a## in an air conditioned office.

We were never coerced into BYOD. Your club must s— more than mine which is saying a lot.

I agree but 2 problems.

  1. Not enough associates with the guts to do what it would take to get a union in a building.
  1. Even if, Walmart will just close any building that does unionize.
