Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Where will the “Christmas Shop” be located in your Sears?

Ours last year was within the tool department kinda between men’s-shoes and tools..and was set up by late September last year..

This year that space is overrun with men’s clothing now, s-t-r-e-c-h-e-d out to make it look like there’s lots of it... same with our paint department that clearanced out at 80% off.. the former paint department now has a few sheds and 30ft side wall full of work hoodies in neon colors.. pretty tacky looking..
so I’ve not seen any Christmas trees or all the other decorations that was bombarding our store this time last year..coming in yet..
Was last years Christmas shop the grand finally... never to appear again or is Sears going to spin it to say customers don’t want to see Christmas stuff til after Halloween to make it appear they are listening to their “members” now..

Fact is probably all the vendors wants cash upfront before they ship anything because they know otherwise Fast Eddie will screw them over and not pay the bill

Store Mgr should make this decision.
If you have a home fashions Dept at the mall entrance it should go there.
Otherwise, a dept setup with ALL game parlor, Games or novelty items could be brought together to make a theme.
Obviously the direction from hq will disagree with these concepts. Grow some B*lls and control your own destiny. Quit waiting and quit being a follower and start being a leader.

Ours is always in lawn and garden. Hasn't been that great over the last several years. Used to be THE SPOT for artificial trees and such.

Just search “Christmas” on the site the decor landing page is up.

October is really plenty early to set it. Most people don’t buy that stuff until after Halloween anyway let alone think about it. Some of the other stores I worked at set it as early as late August, the stuff just collected dust for 2 months.

Heaters showed up like 2 weeks ago. We got winter boots in early this week and jackets have started showing up on the latest truck but it’s all still in back.

It will be a few dusty trees from prior years located between liquidation signs. There is no Christmas this year.

Kmart here. Our store usually has Christmas coming in by now. No fall or winter apparel. Swimsuits galore. This morning we started opening cartons we received on Friday with cheap ugly ladies winter coats with 49.99 and 79.99 price tickets on them. Same garbage c-ap at Burlington for 19.99 and 24.99.

Christmas trees have been up at the Sears in Woodfield since Labor Day weekend. Spread out among patio furniture and tools. It’s the corporate store. Sears is history when that store closes. Clothing department only has summer clothes while other stores in the mall have winter.

Some Sears vendors still have not been paid since last year. The unsecured vendors are fighting in bankruptcy court to get paid from Eddie. Any supplier or vendor should think twice about doing business with a company on the verge of collapse.

Christmas is up on Sears.com - click on “Halloween”, then subcategories appear. Looks like the “sears only” tab has several available for shipping, but not at stores yet.
