Thread regarding Southwestern Energy Co. layoffs

No Other Thread Matters

Ignore any other thread cause we need to put this discussion front and center. About me, been on this site since 2017 and posted to it a few times as well. Why since 2017 cause I have a good job at SWN and do what is expected. I have enough years in this business and SWN that I can call this company out to my SWN family.

Why this thread matters is this is a crucial time for SWN. Based on my analysis and listening to a few leaders in SWN and outside of SWN, change is on the horizon. SWN will be just another long forgotten company and the current leaders the same. My analysis has us merging with another Marcellus producer. It will be one of these Cabot, Range Resources or Penn Energy. They have a small employee footprint and a natural fit for merging with SWN. A few SWN employees will remain but most will be gone in a short period of time. It’s just business and par for the course.

I want to see my fellow SWN post their true ideas and feelings and make this thread go viral.

Hey all. Ignore the thread Safety First? We are always safe. WJW is a true safety leader as he bailed from the office early to see if it was safe to get home. He got there safely and then we could leave. We are so lucky to have a leader that talks the safety talk

This is the thread with big news forthcoming. This is not a red herring. We are are ready for “news” on layoffs or org changes I am not the OP but know who they are. Stay tuned.

Guess I am going to have put in a Near Miss or is it an Unsafe Condition. Does it really matter. Here it is. Was driving to location to grease a valve when I read that last post and almost spilled my extra large Sheetz coffee as I was laughing so hard. Had to wait till I got to location to post this but boy that last post made my day.

Just passed a few execs downstairs. Sour faces. Wonder if BOD is making changes? Layoffs on table? Buy out? It’s TGIF for goodness sake.

You think they are that smart for an exit strategy. The only exit strategy they are
good at is the layoff strategy and good employees exiting

If relationships with BOD are eroding a rapid pace, how is WJW planning an exit strategy? Or do they provide him the exit strategy? Heck, I say there is a legal route for us concerning all the retirement savings he’s personally cost me and my family! I’m down 95% from the glory days. Who’s with me? Class action!

If you think it’s going to hit $3.50 anytime soon.... we’ll, I pray for you.

With stock price never to go above $3.50 we will see layoffs soon. Whose with me when I say SWN is not #SWNing?!? Anyone?!

Yes, yes we do. SWN is a leading edge company that strives to do its part to contribute to help the environment. Come on previous poster!

Do we still have van pools? BS!!

Read this board every day while riding to and from work on my SWN vanpool. Finally decided to post. This thread is exactly what is needed. Honest open dialogue. Perhaps there is discord between BOD and WJW. And yes disdain for the execs brought in post 2016. Most importantly is the ineptness of WJW and am reminded each time I look at my Merril Lynch account and my SWN stock grants. A total bust!

That is all!

When read the previous post, my first thought was BS. Then I’m getting coffee in the break room and also heating confirmatory rumors of the broken relationships between Way and BOD. This will be interesting. Wow. Maybe finally the change we’ve desperately been needing?

Word from inside here - BOD and WJW at impasse on several key issues. His relationship is fracturing with key members of board per the source. He wants more compensation to be “on par” with his other CEO peers. Key BOD member finally called him out in meeting on his ineptness and underperformance on stock. Stay tuned. Could be on the Way out.

Asking for a friend (ok lots of friends on 3). Based on this thread are layoffs a real possibility?

LOL. I sense the same disdain for JB when he walks through our department. He too can add to his list of failed jobs on his resume for the next hapless E&P that would consider hiring him.

The BOD is having secret offsite meetings amongst themselves. This is confirmed by inside source. One of the contentious items of disagreement is the removal of signage from the building(s). What’s next?

all of SWN's executive mgmt. need to be terminated, Richard Lane, former COO needs to be put into Way's spot as Richard was part of the original executive team that took SWN from a $200 million market cap to $15 billion....and then Muller was hired....what a disaster when you hire a guy who helped take his 6 previous companies down the toilet

I’m hearing BOD divided on several issues as well. Divided may mean Way divided from rest. Maybe finally realizing he’s overcompensated?? Greed is a disease and maybe BOD finally realizing that. Who knows. Agree that EQT has set down the right path. I’ll take a VSP!

Anyone else with us. More layoffs to save the company. After all it’s now or when we merge and want to take chances with my job post merger. Where are all my SWN peeps. Stop viewing and chime in with your insights. I am doing this from my office.

I seen that EQT streamlined stuff and laid off people. I have to think that we do the same very soon. They are working to empower employees by laying off 200 people. We should do the same. What say you folks?

You want objectivity? Here you go. Inside source tells me that Way on hot seat. And I mean real hot seat. Not the “hot seat” we normally think of with that guy. He’s desperate to make a move. BOD is divided on many issues. Heard of several secret meetings with three or four members. This can’t be good. Or maybe it can be good. Mums the word! Stay tuned to this hotline if info.

How about more objective and less subjective post. All these emotionally charged post..... anyways our current P/E is 1.21. We aren't going anywhere.

OMG. I hope it’s not true! SWN is my family. I’ve raised my two boys since this company was once great and still is! I don’t know if any other place to work! I’ll stay tune for updates. This information sounds true.
