Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

There are available alternatives

There are still some places that respect their employees and treat them like human beings and assets, not like objects and costs that need cutting. Schwab used to belong to the first group but those days are long gone.

One of my former coworkers quit Schwab a while ago to join Vanguard. To this day he hasn't regretted it and from what I hear, he is happier than ever.

So there are available alternatives, the only issue is if they are hiring or not right now.

Regarding the post lay-off activity - are there any employees who after the layoffs were ‘done,’ lost their job for other reasons like the company creatively weaponizing the compliance department?

Sounds like our layoff was mostly tenured people too. I heard 80% had over 15 years with Schwab. I'm at 22...

They just laid people off too in their reorg. They call their layoffs “ forced early retirement” so that they can say they don’t lay people off. Tenured people took the brunt of it
