Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Death of a Company

Been a Xerox employee many years (26). I’ve seen changes over a long span. We’ve fallen and picked up again, but this is a different storm. I’m sorry, but if you have any personal integrity it’s time to move on. This is no longer about carrying the Xerox flag forward. The flag is burning.
Hold your head high and leave while you have integrity to use your experience to claim a new career. Once Xerox fails publicly (and it certainly will), your resume value will deteriorate faster than Carl and John’s s-xual appeal.

I finally left just a few weeks ago. For years I had worried that things would actually be worse at another company, despite everyone saying “life is better after Xerox”. But the events of the past year were finally my breaking point. Walking into that dusty, decrepit building everyday and being weighed down by the overwhelming sour fear that everyone has, wondering if today is their last day...finally, enough was enough.

I cannot explain the immense feeling of relief when I finally took a leap of faith and got a job at another company. It is amazing. I can actually go to work every morning and not feel weighed down by dread. Please, for your own sanity and health, get out of Xerox as soon as you can.

Xerox isn't going anywhere soon. Yes, it's trying to transform, and I'm not sure I see a successful long term strategy, but the company will still be here in 5 years or longer. After that, who knows.

This post rings true. I recently left and went to an amazing organization - when I mention my experienced with Xerox, the response is always positive & it indeed helped me leave. Most outside X don’t understand the powder cake the company current stands on & the name is very iconic. Get out before they ruin the last thing left for the company - the name.
