Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

These cuts have been officially announced.

My store manager openly said, RTM is done. The position will be eliminated by end of 4th quarter if not sooner.

The PSE Manager, and the person in charge of installers are to be combined. So one is gone, then PSE program to be "restructured", or eliminated all together.

And theres more, but I dont want to freak you out more than you already are. Just have your resume out there. Its all you can do.

DSSM and DSM Regional Managers were announced yesterday and the DSM and DSSMs find out whom gets the district positions today.

About 2 weeks to go until the hammer falls hard, hope the stores have all of the part timers hired to replace those who will be laid off, but I doubt it. These changes will continue once a quarter more or less to keep the appearance that the bottom line is growing for the sake of the stock price. The problem for corporate is that there is only so much left to cut this way and long term it is a disaster as customers stop shopping the store due to either poor or no help.

Not even the store manager will know when and who gets cuts till they alone get a secured email. Be prepared no matter what. Leave on your terms not theirs.

If you think your job is going away, pay attention to how the SM treats you. Their mannerisms, the avoiding people and other signs. If you pay close attention, you can tell.

I noticed when I was laid off. He wanted a BBQ built. Then when it was done, he avoided me. I had a feeling when Marvin came in that jobs like Assemblers, FSAs, Installs, RTMs, and even receiving except one person will be eliminated. Why do you think so much is good faith received. But no one will know to the very last moment. So leave on your terms, not theirs.

People have been saying that RTM would be gone for the last 2 years now. Back to the point, no ASM would leak out something like elimination of positions, because they don't know.

another troll. probably disgruntled former employee. sadly enough your fellow coworkers arent behind whatever happened to you...so why troll us.

store managers dont just leak information. the last known SM to do that was fired in 2017 when he leaked info on the ASM layoff. they quickly found out who it was and he was fired. SM sign non-disclosures. it gets pretty real in that position. something you at your payrate probably dont grasp.

The OP has no information. Everything mentioned was either already announced and confirmed (as in the case of the DSM and DSSM positions combining) or is rehashed speculation (as in the case of the RTM position being eliminated).

Any changes coming down from Corporate will be made known to Store Managers just before the announcement to avoid the OP’s claim of “My Store Manager openly said…” from happening.

Any associate at the store level should have their resume ready and be prepared to make a change. Marvin and friends have incredible disdain for the front line employees; those who talk directly to the customer. Marvin seems to have forgotten he said there are no cash registers at corporate and you serve customers or serve those that serve customers.

It is best to get out on your terms not Marvin’s.
