Ford Can't Afford to Provide Retirees PPO 2000 + HSA Health Insurance

For 2019, I had the PPO 2000 + HSA for $0 per month for family.

This option is not available for 2020. Lowest cost plan for family is $430 per month. It is a double hit because the out of pocket maximums have almost doubled.

I hope you are wrong, I am counting on 8 years of Ford health care.

Ford had a choice and they chose to stick it to retirees. I hope current employees think twice before retiring before they are Medicare eligible.

I understand that providing coverage for retirees until they are eligible for Medicare is expensive. Offering the coverage was indeed generous. It is still somewhat of a betrayal because many who took PRP factored this coverage into their decision (and their budget). Ford did this to retirees because they have no recourse. There was little or no change to employee coverage because they have the option of finding better jobs. Changing benefits for existing employees would also make it harder to attract the young ones they are recruiting to replace the older ones who took PRP or were released.
