Our fresh teamleads went to a meeting last week and was told to not work in departments.Just walk
around.I guess that why they got a big raise.

As a Fresh TL, I'm in my element. Now they want me to be like an asst. Club Mgr. If I wanted to do that, I would have asked for it.

In my club our meat lead is constantly working deli and freezer/cooler due to call ins. Contrary to managers belief meat dept is short staffed. Some days you have 2 people in the morning shift trying to keep the dept running. I can understand having team leads learning and seeing the big picture but it's a problem when meat lead is always helping others but no one us ever helping us.

Im a manager and for the manager that expressed that its HIS business you are lost. Nothing is yours and when the end of the physical year is up and one of the fresh managers is gone and hopefully it is you and they take YOUR Business from you then and only then will you realize how mistaken you been. I have been a mgr for over 20 years and the things they are asking us to get completed on a daily basis is not possible. We continue adding more and more work on the associates and eventually we lose what few good ones we have left.

Are the floor associates supposed to be the ones stocking the freezers and cooler? The 4am floor crew are the ones that stock it here.

I wish there was a freezer cooler lead. Were just left on this island espeically if you don't have a good manager.

My problem as a fresh lead is that not all jobs are equal thus they should have not all gotten raises. You have the prepared food lead who is in charge of cafe, deli, hms, rotisserie
Bakery lead who is in charge of bakery and 37 though that is mostly taken care of by the merch leads who for some unknown reason are in charge of 48.
Meat lead who does meat, Produce lead who does produce.
You also have Freezer/Cooler that is under fresh but none of the leads take ownership of it.

ah yes managers acting like this means something more than just a paycheck. This is JUST a job. Nothing more.

I take ownership in what I do. I do a good job so I can continue bringing home some money. That is all. And you managers who try to make believe you care about Sam's club are such a laugh. You are like me. You are working for a paycheck The difference is that you are being paid to make all of us pretend to like the place.

This not a family and those of us who are friends at work most do not associate outside those four walls.

Please reward us for the work we do and not whether or not be believe in the family. The family has been a big pile of bad stuff since the concept was birthed.

I do the job I am paid for and do it well.

I’m a Fresh Manager who has amazing Team Leads that truly own their business! Until you’re in a management role please don’t judge! We all give up a lot to ensure not only the FRESH departments are on par every day open to close! You snarky associates who grumble & moan are afraid of change & make my life more difficult to run MY business. If you don’t like what you see in you club go express your discontent with your CM. But if you go complain you better offer solutions! Or maybe yet go find another job!

Not sure why you're turning on each other. Fresh is in the same boat as everyone else. If you're really thinking they don't have a huge amount to take care of also then your opinions are just laughable. Now on top of that they are going to be given more responsibility. Once they get rid of some managers, more than likely, they will be told to not be in their area so much. They're going to have to watch other areas. I would not want to be them right now. We're supposed to be working together, not allowing HO to turn on each other. But hey, do whatever right?

The training should have taught them to spend more time walking around to see the big picture. It’s not to give them an excuse to not get work done.

What by not working side by side with your associates in your department. Floor associates are not yours to use as fill in. They can't get their own work completed.
