Thread regarding Conduent layoffs

Conduent Is Not Paying Vendors

They are not paying vendors for critical software applications and just letting
the software license lapse. Many systems have been impacted.

It is only a matter of time before this whole thing goes under.

This is typical around this time of year. Travel freezes vendor payments delayed etc. I have been with the company for 18 years now and let me put your mind at ease... this is nothing new. As for layoffs, this is normal too for a company that hasn’t been profitable for the last couple of years, but watch the earnings report tomorrow and I bet you will see improvement. We have good leadership now and it’s going to get better. It’s early I know, but I see good things happening.

More than three years ago I reported that should we not renew our software license, we would breach several (10+) contracts.

At the time, it would cost $3,000 to renew the software.

I couldn't convince anyone that this was something we needed to do for financial and ethical reasons.

I was told by Mr.Dufus to STFU and do my job and they would do theirs.

The software was renewed last week for $16,000.

Mr.Dufus has since been promoted and makes far weightier decisions.

(slow clap)

Ahhhhh......so that is why they are doing laptop inventory at the moment. They will know what laptops will be free for use when the next round of layoffs hit.

Situation is not looking good, I got out. Don't wait, keep looking and try to get out as early as you can.
I know it's a hard decision but there is no stability here, remember the holiday season is around the corner, management don't care about anyone, the history shows this company sends employee home just before the holiday (which is really bad, this is what they do for their bonuses)

Our department is letting some licenses lapse, but in our case it's software we shouldn't really be keeping anyway and are actively trying to sunset. There wasn't anything I would consider critical that we weren't paying for, as far as I could tell.

How critical are we talking about here?

Left about a month ago - this is a recurring theme. They ran out of laptops several months ago because they hadn't paid the hardware vendor. This is a recurring theme that doesn't bode well.
