Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Raise

Anyone heard anything else about when the rest of the associates will get the raise to 15? I don't feel any other job in that store is harder than the next. I think all jobs are hard in one way or the other. I am so sick of hearing well we do this or that, so what it's ur job just like everyone else has there job. That doesn't make urs harder. Take cart attendants any one of u floor people want to go out at below freezing temps or over 100 degrees and get carts? Yeah I doubt u want to although some do they really wouldn't want to do it all the time. So what makes a fork lift driver or a cos job harder or more important that they get the raise and cart attendants don't. Or how maybe some of you want to come deal with angry member at membership? Sure cos is will they don't want to but they do but not all the time. Most of time the membership assoicstes will take care of the problem and the cursing at them or at least at our club they do. So what makes someone else job more important that they deserve a raise and rest of us don't. I will never understand how home office doesn't see this. Now for the troll that is gonna come on here and say well stop complaining and apply for a better position well u know what that is not as easy as u think it is. Which tells me ur one of the ones who got their raise so u don't give a c-ap if other associates get one or not. So keep on going to the next post and troll there nobody here needs ur advice. Again has anyone heard anything else about all the other employees getting raised to 15 dollars?

In China the employees are unionized at Walmart If employees had any sense of being treated fairly they would use their numbers to organize a union and then everyone would be treated better by the company

Half of the team leads at my club do not drive a lift. So how is this fair that they got a pay raise and are not expected to drive a lift. My managers do not enforce it either.

Not to be rude but most associates making 15 and higher at my club are the ones that are the problem and are not working as hard as the ones making 11.

I disagree with that. I can only speak for our club but most of us do more than just our job. We have to do the jobs of people who make way more than us. I will never understand how home office Amor anyone for that matter believes this ok. It is just wrong they are saying basically that they will pay this person this much but hey I can do same job but ur gonna get paid less. That just not ok.

If everybody was raised to $15 they'd have to give the people they just raised to $15 more. Then they'd complain you don't make whatever they got bumped to. Some positions command more money than others. It is what it is.

Nobody saying fork lift drivers jobs isn't hard every job is hard in its own way. Every person that works there does at least 5 different jobs even doing some jobs that other people get paid more for. So at least they could be fair and starting pay should be 15 for everyone. I do so many jobs where people get paid more than me yet I still get paid way less. People would be so much happier working there of they actually paid people for the work they did and they had one job and it was there not 5 other people's. For instance I do click and pull and the one guy who's only been there a yr gets paid 1.25 more than me with me doing same job and I been there 5 yrs. I do cos we all know what they get paid and it's 7 more dollars than me with all but one that has been there longer than me but I do same job they do and they get paid more. That is what I am talking about. I am not complaining because I do those jobs to help out but just stateing my reason everyone needs at least 15 dollars hour.

If Forklift driving is so easy then why is it that half the people at my club either refuse to or are incapable of gettting their Forklift license? It does take some skill, and more responsibility that comes with it. Those that are licensed should get payed more than those who are not.

To "So, you think floor associates." Don't act like driving a forklift is any harder than working the front desk. I do both and one isn't any harder than the other.

Unless the federal government makes it mandatory and changes the federal minimum wage. Not going happen. (Side note last change to the federal minimum wage was in 2009.)

States that have a higher minimum wage then the federal have to have stipulations so to speak and only certain counties will get the higher wage. Guess where Walmart Inc will most likely not go.

The special training for fresh is going away and those increases which were used to lure unsuspecting associates to those areas are now learning the hard way.

Look at the Club Hub page on the WIRE and the only way you are going to get an increase is to step up to lead position or go MIT or find out what positions pay more based on your club's pay scale.

So, you think floor associates that are too incompetent to drive a forklift should make the same as a floor associate that does drive a lift? Neat, I guess.

If u make over 15 u will not get a raise. More then likely people just starting out will end up making more than u. Been at Sam’s 17 years and this is how it always works out. Sorry but a cart attendant shouldn’t be making 15 a hour. Yes it’s hard but it takes no skills to push carts. And yes I have done carts before. Started there and after 17 years I’m doing receiving now.
