Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

This is what happens when the bank doesn't think things through

3 months afer being let go and taking severance, the project that we were working on TANKED and I was contacted by my former mgr to come back through a contractor to help right the sinking ship. So, I was hired back as a contracted emp, for WAY more money than before PLUS was still able to get my severance. So, long story short: the bank paid me TWICE to do the same job because they were so short sighted and cut off their own legs without thinking how they'd walk afterwards. SMH

This was posted by @11EYlRqP-2fbr in another thread, I thought it belonged on the top just so more people can enjoy the bank's screwup.

You are still cheaper. They are no longer paying your benefits or any company match they may have paid for you as an employee. And for sure as soon as that project completes, they'll boot you out the door. It's still a win for them.

Yes, I have seen it. More than once. This is because of their incompetence thinking they have Project and Portfolio leadership. They think they are so cool because they can pronounce "Agile" and "Convon", but they are so full of **it. On the other hand, they think that if they underpay the staff at the branch and rip them off their benefits they will save more dough. Limited vision and huge incompetence.
