as much work as possible is going off shore for all areas of the business. RAs are happening for xmas holiday season and into 1st qtr 2020. Division mgmt is a joke, they make these terrible deals to get a foot hold, loose millions on millions and expect some grey hair miracle maker to save their mba arse. Get out on your terms when you can.

You are watching the slow motion break up of IBM. IBM CFO has ready said they will exit low margin services and OEM services contracts. He also said on the last quarterly call that GBS will have to be whipped into shape. Services is over 1/2 of IBM’s revenue. Will the addition of Redhat to cognitive, and the Z15 make up for that revenue. I do not see how that equation closes. I speculate that IBM will continue to trim/spinoff until someone wants to buy the remaining pieces. Ginni placed all of her bet on Redhat, and it has not really paid off due to over paying, and Redhatters farming the deferred revenue stream (keeping current contract owners happy). In the mean time, IBM has to suffer the accounting consequences of that deferred revenue and the continuing shrinking of the legacy revenue stream. What’s a CFO to do? Sell off the low margin businesses and hope the break up extracts value
