In addition to the layoffs, everything is being outsourced. Call centers, sales, service territories, IT......it's all going offshore. Xerox truly is a "shell" of what it used to be.
I busted with pride when I was hired by Xerox 30 plus years ago.I was the envy of
my college classmates to think I had landed a job with Xerox .The internal learning, training and job opportunities were limitless.By the year 2000 everything seem to change.Laid off in 2013 I could’n have given a darn for the company that had totally lost it’s way.Customer first had given way to profit at any cost, employees as our greatest asset became just a buzz word and
quality gave way to just ship it! Sad to see the what remains of a once great company

A lot of the employee count was in manufacturing. We manufactured everything.
Today we manufacture 3 products. And we lack the RD people to develop those 3 if had to do it again
And yet the 120k employees was probably to much... that’s the point of what’s going on. Drastic reduction in cost because no one kept the company nimble enough to move with market trends. Now leadership over correcting to impress wall street/a buyer but still being able to close half the offices, fire staff and outsource others. Doesn’t speak to the lack of problem solving that was done by previous leaders?
Xerox worldwide 1981/1982 had over 120,000 employees .
Way before ACS ....Xerox1978 had 104,000
employees worldwide ..
Xerox Technology never had a 120k. That employee number was artificially inflated by the ACS mess

I can remember how proud I was to be employed by them but now I am a soon-to-be-unemployed worker that will have to train my replacement. A few foreign workers with H1-B visas will be at corp for 5 weeks starting 11/4 to learn the ropes, then return to their home country to train the rest of the workers.
